Hubby (Bob) has always had a passion for cars of the 50's & 60's &
I (J(anet)) am pretty fond of some as well. Since he couldn't have the real things,
he opted to collect 1:18 scale models of his favorites. Well, as you can imagine,
in a just a short time, after buying his own and receiving many more as gifts
(especially from the kids as Dad's Day, Birthday & Christmas presents), the
models began taking over our living space. At that point, Bob decided to bring
some to work to adorn his cubicle.(Laid off since then, alas, a subject for another
blog.) Other car enthusiasts admired them and began asking how to acquire them,
which in turn sparked the creation of DreamDiecast.com.

We are a family owned and operated small business located in NJ and
now in existence for approx. 2 yrs. Our website and EBay store comprise
our online presence. For the most part, we travel throughout central and
north Jersey and PA to car shows and fairs as a vendor of diecast model
cars & trucks. We have also added plush toys (a big hit) to our inventory.
It is always fun and exciting to see who we might meet in the course of these
travels. We have been really blessed to meet so many truly wonderful people
(customers as well as fellow vendors and promoters). It's great to see all
the fantastic vintage cars, too. The best is matching up a vintage car owner
with a diecast model of their vehicle -biggest smiles ever!!!

Some of the most fun events have been Concourse d'Elegance(Bethlehem,PA),
Everything Jersey City Festival(Jersey City, NJ), New Hope Auto Show(New
Hope, PA), and Lead East(Parsippany,NJ). Lead East is actually more than
a car show. It's turned into a 4 day Nostalgia Event. The smaller car shows
also have lots to offer. You should definitely try to attend some of these events
as they are Great Fun. We have links to those and other events on the
"Upcoming Events" page of our website (dreamdiecast.com). The majority of
events we attend are also fundraisers for various causes and we also donate a
portion of our sales to Autism Speaks(a cause personal to us -we will leave that
for another blog).

Our intent is that this blog will help personalize us (Bob & Janet) for our customers.
Some already stop by to visit and purchase models after buying at an event -
always a pleasure!
